Why the Wichita Dream Center Matters
Dream Center ICT exists for one simple reason: to help people dream again. For years, families across Wichita have faced poverty, neglect, addiction, and loss—often without the support they need to move forward.
Our mission is to step into those moments with compassion, practical help, and hope.
How It Began
More than fifteen years ago, the Wichita Dream Center was founded by Marty and his wife Polly with a clear calling—to serve the “widows and orphans” of our modern day.
As a social worker, Polly was overwhelmed by the stories of neglect, abuse, and trauma affecting children in neighborhoods close to home. As a pastor, Marty could not stand by while families struggled under the weight of poverty, crime, and lack of support.
What began as a burden soon became a mission.
From One Neighborhood to a Citywide Impact
The work started simply—with a pickup truck and a trailer, delivering groceries to one struggling neighborhood one Saturday a month. As volunteers caught the vision, that monthly outreach grew into weekly service.
Over time, the mission expanded to include block parties, bus outreach, community lunches, bicycle giveaways, school support, and seasonal events for children and families.
What never changed was the heart behind it.
Compassion in Action
Dream Center ICT is a faith-based organization grounded in the belief that hope can be restored in any life, at any time. We believe in meeting both physical and spiritual needs—offering practical help while reminding people they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.
Our goal is not a handout, but a hand up—helping individuals and families take steps toward stability and renewed hope.
We are committed to serving:
At-risk children and families
Foster care and adoption families
Students facing food and clothing insecurity
Individuals struggling with poverty, addiction, and instability
We support local schools, partner with churches and nonprofits, and create community events that bring people together with dignity and care.
Working Together for Greater Impact
Dream Center ICT works alongside many trusted partners, including churches, schools, social service organizations, and nonprofits such as Convoy of Hope, Gathered, St. Francis Ministries, DCCCA, and Bridge Hunger.
We are also an official affiliate of the Dream Center, sharing a mission that has helped communities across the country dream again for more than 20 years.
Stewardship You Can Trust
Dream Center ICT operates as a 100% flow-through nonprofit organization. Every donation is applied directly to the stated need or project—ensuring that generosity has the greatest possible impact in the lives of those we serve.
Hope is restored when compassion meets action.
Because of faithful donors, volunteers, and partners, the Wichita Dream Center continues to serve families across our city—helping them believe again that a better future is possible.
